Official fact versus popular interpretation

The official design specification defines the Chakra’s colour, position and number of spokes. It does not provide a separately named virtue for each spoke.

Many books, school materials and online articles publish spoke-by-spoke virtue lists. Such lists may be useful for moral education, but they should be labelled as educational or philosophical interpretations.

Why are the spokes equally spaced?

Equal spacing gives the Chakra visual balance, order and consistency. As an educational interpretation, that visual equality can also encourage discussion about equal dignity, equal justice and shared civic responsibility.
